Calyx needed reliable backup for critical farming operations where electricity supply could not be allowed to fail. The grid was unstable, so resilience and continuity came first, with solar also reducing grid energy use and operating costs.

The hybrid system had to integrate into the existing electrical network and provide fast, reliable backup without disrupting normal farm operations.

Working closely with the client, our team designed a solution that balanced engineering excellence, financial viability, and long-term operational performance.

Nesa Power installed a 156.96 kWp ground-mount solar PV system with a 120 kW ATESS hybrid inverter and a 200 kWh Freedom Won battery.

Because continuity of supply was the priority, the design was built around the farm’s critical loads rather than purely maximising solar savings – careful load selection, hybrid sizing, and enough battery reserve to ride through grid failures without oversizing the plant.
