EPC + Funding + O&M: A Practical Model for C&I Solar

…and why O&M matters — even if we didn’t build your system

As more C&I solar sites come online, the value conversation is shifting.

It’s no longer just about the build.

It’s about how well the system performs — and how long it lasts.

Traditionally, solar projects are delivered in separate parts: EPC by one provider, funding by another, and operations handled by a third. This can work, but it often creates blind spots. Faults slip through the cracks. Performance issues go unnoticed. Accountability becomes diluted.

That’s why lifecycle thinking — a model that integrates EPC + funding + O&M — is gaining traction. But it’s also why structured O&M services are critical even if your system is already installed.

The Lifecycle Model: All Phases Aligned

Our lifecycle approach was designed to give C&I clients a single, consistent delivery model — from engineering through to daily monitoring.

Here’s how it works:

EPC: In-house engineering & construction

  • Custom solar designs based on site load profiles
  • Vetted, Tier 1 components
  • Delivered by our own approved EPC team for consistency
  • Commissioned with full documentation and quality checks

Funding: Optional, zero-capex options

  • PPA and lease models
  • Commercial terms aligned to expected savings
  • Off-balance-sheet treatment available

O&M: Ongoing performance and issue resolution

  • Daily monitoring during business hours
  • Structured annual maintenance
  • Tiered response windows (24h–96h)
  • Monthly performance reporting
  • Warranty support and replacement coordination
  • Panel cleans planned around your systems requirements including soiling in your area, weather patterns and your systems performance.

Didn’t use our EPC team? We can still operate your system

Not every system starts with Nesa Power — but that doesn’t mean we can’t help keep it running optimally.

We offer O&M contracts as a standalone service for clients who:

  • Built their systems through other EPCs
  • Are facing underperformance or limited fault visibility
  • Don’t have structured maintenance or monitoring in place
  • Want a second opinion or lifecycle health review

A standard onboarding process lets us evaluate the system, set up monitoring, and propose a tailored SLA based on system age, condition, and business goals.

In short: we help you take back control of your system’s performance.

A typical O&M SLA Includes:

  • Fault detection and remote monitoring (08h00–17h00, Mon–Fri)
  • Tiered response: Emergency (24h), High (72h), Low (96h)
  • One annual preventative maintenance service
  • An additional scheduled inspection to pick up any potential issues
  • Corrective maintenance with a pre-approval of R10k for work to happen quickly for the smaller things
  • Warranty/OEM support
  • Reporting and escalation logs
  • Panel cleaning planned around your systems needs

Why This Matters

Whether we built your system or not, the same core issues remain:

  • Who monitors performance?
  • Who responds when faults happen?
  • How are warranties maintained?
  • Who ensures the system still meets your business case?

We believe solar ROI isn’t just designed — it’s maintained.

And that’s why lifecycle care, or at the very least structured O&M, is essential to making commercial solar work.
